volunteer opportunities
Many of GFDC’s programs are volunteer-driven. Here are just a few examples of how you can contribute your time to help improve the lives of children living in poverty and their families. Simply complete our volunteer application and send it with an email stating how you would like to volunteer your time and/or talents! Here are a few ideas on how you can help:
Help in the Classroom*
We can always use people to help with classroom activities, outdoor games or fieldtrips. If you've already completed a volunteer application form send just send us an email. If this is your first time volunteering, please complete the volunteer application.* We’ll work with you on a date and time that works for you!
A Special Project*
Everyone has unique gifts and knowledge that they can share with children or parents. If you have a special craft, skill or talent you would like to share with the kids, parents or the entire family we want YOU! Kids love to have new experiences and we are happy to set up a special one-time project, a short series of projects or an ongoing time for you to share your gifts with us. If you've already completed a volunteer application form send just send us an email. If this is your first time volunteering, please complete the volunteer application.* We’d love the opportunity to work with you. Here are some ideas of special projects

Help in the Office or in the Mercado de la Segunda
Maybe you have gifts other in the areas of customer service, administration or organizing; if so you may like to volunteer your time in the office or our thrift store, Mercado de la Segunda. You can work flexible hours on a specific project or have a set time every week or every month when you volunteer your time.
* Please note that all volunteers who want to interact directly with the children must complete a volunteer application and screening process to protect the children and families from child predators.
